Raymond T. Richey: Healed of Tuberculosis

Comments Off on Raymond T. Richey: Healed of Tuberculosis

Sparrow in TopiarySpeaking scriptures and faith filled words over and over will build your faith and cause your answers to manifest. Romans 10: 17 says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” The more you hear yourself speaking those things that the Word of God say belong to you, the more you’ll believe it and bring it into your life.

Raymond T. Richey, a healing evangelist born in 1893, had contracted tuberculosis while working in the ministry. He was confined to bed. By September of 1919, he had given up on life and he was upset with God for not healing him. God spoke to him and reminded him that the church was believing for his full recovery and also reminded him of the miracles He had done in Ritchey’s family in the past. Richey was repentant and started saying, “Dear Lord, forgive, I do remember and I do believe.”

He opened the Bible and read Psalm 103:3, “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, Who healeth all thy diseases.” Richey slowly got out of bed and whispered in a weak voice, “I praise You, Lord, I praise You, Lord, I praise You, Lord. I know You are healing me.” Each time he praised God, his voice got stronger until he was shouting. His strength increased rapidly and he knew he was healed.

He was staying with some friends at the time and went to find them. When Richey found them, he shouted, “The Lord has healed me. The Lord has healed me. The Lord has healed me … ”

As he was running up the steps to his room where he was staying, “the devil whispered, ‘Your lungs may be healed, but don’t forget that your heart is in very bad condition and you have been warned that any sudden excitement or over exertion is liable to prove fatal.’ The reply to this was, ‘God has healed my heart as well as my lungs,’ and back down the steps he ran and up again and, to quote him, he has been ‘running ever since.’ ”

After that time his lungs remained healthy and strong. He had meetings almost continually; at times up to seven meetings a day.

In this example, once Mr. Ritchey realized God wanted him well and started declaring out of his mouth that he was healed, his body lined up and the sickness and weakness had to go.

Healed of Cancer: Dodie Osteen Testimony

Speaking the Word of God can save your life. When she was 48 years old, Dodie Osteen, wife of pastor John Osteen, started having various pains and symptoms in her body. Since she had been very healthy up to that point, she decided to see a doctor and get some help. The doctor who examined her, recommended that she go to to the hospital for a series of tests.

The tests showed that she had metastatic liver cancer, and that even with treatment, she would be dead in a few weeks.

Instead of giving in to the fear and darkness that tried to overtake her, she turned to God and His Word for answers.

She examined her heart and wrote letters to people whom she needed to forgive or whom she might have offended, and asked them to forgive her. She knew that being in strife with someone or harboring ill feelings towards a person would nullify her faith. The Bible says, “faith worketh by love.”

She and her husband John took authority over the disease and any cancerous cells in Dodie’s body.

Dodie put photos of herself by her bed of when she was young and healthy. One picture was of her in her wedding dress, the other was of her riding a horse while on vacation. It was a way to visualize what she was believing for.

One of the most important things she did, was to make a list of 40 healing scriptures and read through them 3 times every day. It took a long time for the symptoms of cancer to leave. At times Dodie was so weak, tired and sick that she was tempted to give up the fight and go be with Jesus, but she chose to persevere.

She fought negative thoughts (and there were lots of them) by speaking the Word of God out of her mouth. Every time she had the thought that she was going to die or another new symptom showed up in her body, she chose to speak scriptures concerning her deliverance, “By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed, With long life does God satisfy me and show me my salvation” etc.

She did not talk about the cancer or complain about how terrible she felt to other people. When asked how she was doing, she kept it positive, “I am blessed, thank-you” or “By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.”

After persevering in the faith, day after day, month after month Dodie was totally healed. Two years after receiving her death sentence of cancer, tests showed that she was free from cancer.

What an inspiring and encouraging testimony!  Here is a list of the healing scriptures Dodie used:  Cancer Healing Scriptures

Note: I found the information for this blog post by reading Dodie’s book, Healed of Cancer and by listening to videos of her giving her testimony.

Scriptures to Fight Cancer

FREE PRINTABLE DOWNLOAD

If you or a loved one are battling cancer, this scriptural declaration will help you build up your faith for complete victory. Print off several copies and carry one with you wherever you go. Read it out loud (like you mean it) for an hour or more every day to develop your faith. As you read it, think about what you’re saying and visualize yourself being healthy and free from cancer.
It has a green butterfly border on left side signifying life, health and freedom from cancer.

I bless the Lord, and do not forget His benefits: He forgives all my iniquities; He heals all my diseases.

No weapon that is formed against me can prosper; I declare that cancer can not live in my body.

God’s Words are life and health to all my flesh; every part of my body is alive and healthy and free of cancer.

Jesus bore my pains and carried away my sicknesses and diseases. I live a pain-free life. I am free from sickness, pain and disease. With the stripes of Jesus I am healed.

God gives me power and strength. I wait upon the Lord and He renews my strength; I mount up with wings like eagles; I run, and I’m not weary; I walk, and do not faint. I am powerful and strong and energetic and healthy!

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

I have a cheerful heart and it causes healing to take place in my body.

God has good plans for my life, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans for my well-being and success.

No harm comes to me, no sickness comes near my house.

I have wisdom, understanding and self discipline and I do those things that support and maintain my health. God provides everything I need for my total well-being.

The devil comes to kill, steal and destroy, but Jesus came so that I can have life and have it more abundantly.

Jesus has given me authority over the power of the devil: and nothing shall by any means hurt me.

I overcome the devil (and his works) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of my testimony.

Cancer is under the curse of the law; Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law by being made a curse for me, that means I am free from cancer.
